About the Department

The EEE department, started in 2008, has a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty. The department offers program B.E in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The faculty members are dedicated towards maintaining a high quality of teaching and always encourage innovative research. Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering have always been in the forefront of providing quality need - based training in contemporary and emerging areas and development of demand driven and innovative instructional resources.

The department consists of 07 faculty members and one recognized research guides under Anna University, Chennai. Along with 01 research scholar pursuing PhD. The department has published 19 journal papers. All the students have the possibility to participate in the research activity through the research lab and publish papers in journals/conferences. The programme is accredited by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi in 2024.

The department has state-of-the-art research laboratories enabling students to pursue their desire for attaining excellence in research and academics. The department regularly organizes seminars, guest lectures, webinars for the professional development of students Furthermore, the department strives to develop collaborative research and development linkages by having a Center of Excellence supported by TVS Training and Service,Chennai.

It has signed MoU with industries like TVS Training and Service, Caliber Embedded Technologies, GM Electronics to conduct internships for students and has also signed MoU with University NegariPedang, Indonesia for Knowledge transfer. The expertise of the faculty is also reflected with the practice of filing Patents.

The excellent placement record which has been consistently above 90% is ample testimony to the emphasis that has been placed on the industrial needs of our country.

PEO1 Have successful technical and professional careers in their chosen fields such as circuit theory, Field theory, control theory, and computational platforms.

Program Outcomes (POs)

Engineering Graduates will be able to: 

PO1 Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems. 
PO2 Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences. 
PO3 Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations. 
PO4 Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions. 
PO5 Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations. 
PO6 The Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

Dr. K.Kanimozhi is a Professor and Head of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. She obtained her BE degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Thiagarajar College of Engineering in 2000, her ME degree in Applied Electronics from Mohamed Sathak Engineering College in 2004, and her Ph.D.  in Faculty of Electrical Engineering in the year   2017 from Anna University, Chennai.

From 2000, she was involved in teaching and research development activities. She has a teaching experience of 22 years and has worked as a Professor and Head of the Department in various institutions

Her research area includes Power Electronics, Robotics, and Renewable Energy. She has published  25 papers in various National and International journals and presented 24 research papers at National and International conferences. She is a reviewer for journals such as  Solar Energy, the Journal of Circuits and Computers, and the Asian Journal of Research in Computer Science. She has published two patents. She has delivered several keynote addresses.

She is a recognized supervisor at Anna University, Chennai, supervising research scholars. She has mentored   M.E. and B.E. student projects.

She is a recipient of the Best Teacher Award from the Aurobindo Society for Innovation and the IEASE Best Teacher Award. She received the Best Paper award at the IEEE International Conference and Indo Korea International Conference  IEMPOWER 2023. She has received a Reviewer award from Solar Energy – Elsevier, Asian Journal of Research in Computer Science.  

She is a life member of the Indian Society for Technical  Education (MISTE) and a member of the International Association of Engineers (MIAENG).
