ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Information Technology at NPR Arts & Science College is a distinctive hub in the field of collegiate education.  The Department, of Information Technology was started in 2006. Currently, the Department has 4 Teaching and 1 Non Teaching Faculty Members and 98 students in the department.

The Department provides state of the art computing facilities to the students.  The Department organizes International & National Conferences, Seminars, Webinars, Inter Department Competition, Short-Term and Value Added Courses. This provides a wide range of opportunities for faculty and students to bring out their potential and innovative skills in a variety of fields. It also promotes active Industry-Institute collaboration.

  A Centralized Computer Centre with a split-up into 2 Labs each of 44 Computer Systems. A total of 88 systems with high-speed dedicated leased line internet facility with open source software and excellent lab facilities for Programming, Multimedia, and Web Designing.

OBJECTIVES

To prepare the students to manage the software components in a computer independently and to be a Programmer.To motivate the students to take up higher studies in Information Technology and other streams.

ELIGIBILITY

A Candidate should have studied +2 level Mathematics in the 10 + 2 stream.

The students shall undergo the prescribed course of study for a period of not less than three academic year (Six semesters).

Medium of Instruction: English

1. A Candidate shall be eligible for the award of the degree on completion of the prescribed course of study and passing all the prescribed external examinations.
2. Attendance progress, internal examinations, conduct certificate from the Head of the Institution shall be required for taking the external examination.
3. The passing minimum and the ranking are as per the existing rule of the Choice Based Credit System for the affiliated college of the University.
